I'm "head engineer" at a news media startup. For the past year, I've worked with a small team on designing, building, and launching an iOS app to deliver a gamified daily news experience.

Our beta launched in February 2023 and so far so good! People are reading stories, playing our news games, taking polls and quizzes, competing in our leaderboards, and writing to us about everything from our content to the app experience.

It's been validating, informative, and super fun to create something from scratch that facilitates community and that gets used daily by both users and a content team.

I live in Crown Heights-Brooklyn with my cat Charlie.

My most recent trip was to the island of Oahu in Hawaii with my girlfriend. We spent a month working remote from a small Airbnb and hiked, beached, and explored as much as we could.
